May In England

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

I arrived in Manchester on the 6th of May and Kate & Dan were there to meet me. Luckily the rocking horse arrived in one piece as did my luggage.

I had been hoping to sleep on the way over as I had three seats to myself and I was able to lie down - no luck there, but at least I didn't have to sit up all night. I'm also glad I went to the Outback for a meal before my flight it was much better than the dining options available on our flight.

Since moving over to my sister's on the 8th, I have been visiting my parents and yesterday spent the day with my friend Barbara. We had lunch at the Wheatsheaf Pub with Lisa, Barbara's daughter, who did the driving.

Barbara is unable to drive after being attacked by a dog about six or seven weeks ago. She has no grip in her left hand at the moment, having just got the pot off her arm and her hand is still swollen but she is hoping to get most of the use back with physiotherapy.

Tomorrow I head back to Kate and Dan's where I will stay until John arrives on Sunday.

Glad you arrived uneventfully. How are your parents?

My Dad is much better than when I was over in 2009 and Mum had a bad cough when I arrived but she was much better when I saw her on Tuesday.
