Finally after frustration and delays we are now settled in the KOA in Kissimmee.
We arrived on Sunday at Alliance Coach expecting to be pulled into a bay on the Monday. Our service rep was not available because of a family emergency so we were assigned to a temporary rep who told us they would get us in at lunch time. We took off for the day to pick up our mail. We arrived back to find we were still in the campground. We were not happy campers!!
Tuesday we finally get moved into a bay to find out that the parts for the disc brakes for the trailer which we had been assured had arrived long before we got to Alliance Coach Service Center had parts missing from the shipment. Now they won't even start the installation until the missing parts arrive. Really unhappy campers!!
John eventually persuaded them to start stripping the old brakes down but not until around 2pm they finish at 5pm.
Wednesday we pull out of the parking lot to go to Camping World, (we need a new brake controller for the new brakes, the one that came with the truck is incompatible) and they have sprayed tar on the road before resurfacing it and now we have tar all over the passenger side of the truck.
A can of WD40 and a number of paper towels and a car wash later we again have a white truck and an appointment for the brake controller fitting for Thursday.
Parts finally arrive on Thursday but we are still missing grease caps, that Moryde says they don't come with, but everyone knows they do. They are being shipped finally from the manufacturer, Kodiak, but they won't arrive until after we leave.
Thursday John is at Camping World and I'm staying in the trailer to report to him on the progress "NONE". So John is phoning in trying to push them into starting working on the installation. Which again doesn't happen until around 2:30pm. Really, really unhappy campers!!
Friday the 13th!! We decide we are staying at the trailer so John can play squeaky wheel and try to move them along. They tell us they still think they can get us out by the end of the day. Doesn't happen. Maybe moving on Friday the 13th wouldn't have been a good idea anyway.
Saturday just the electrics to wire and the wheels to put on. We leave for breakfast and when we get back we are told we are ready to go. "Mmm maybe someone wanted time and a half and ran the job over?" Smack my hands, naughty naughty, no one would do that!!
Then to cap it all off, we find the controller won't work properly! Desperate to leave, John finds that it will work in manual mode, and so we tell them we are leaving. About 10 miles down the road, everything starts working properly and John is real pleased with how well the brakes work. Now we have a problem, what if it happens again when we leave here? John has another appointment with Camping World to see if we have a faulty controller.
Then we have a trip back to pick up the missing grease caps and that hopefully is the end of the saga.
At least we are in the campground, back to our normal routine and back to being Happy Campers.
