My sister arrived in January to find me in the hospital getting checked for a possible stroke. False alarm probably trapped a nerve while I was sleeping but once you get in there they don't want to let you go until they see if they can find something to cure you of. So I had to spend an extra night so that they could run tests.
Anyway the last 5 weeks have flown by and my sister is now back on home ground having just arrived at Manchester Airport after flying all night.
We are now starting to look at where we are going to go for the middle two weeks of our trip to England. We haven't decided whether to tour Italy or take a cruise from Rome to the Greek Islands.  We will probably end up touring Italy by default unless we see a great bargain on a last minute cruise.
I'm looking into flights from England into Venice then a flight out of Rome back to England so we don't have to backtrack.
I did consider the Eurostar through the chunnel  to Paris then a train to Zurich then a train over the Alps to Italy which sounds really nice but it takes extra time and is more expensive than flying. Jet2 and Monarch Airlines have direct flights in and out of  Italy although by the time you buy extra baggage and pay booking fees they are no longer that inexpensive.
Our other option is to hire a car after taking the Eurostar and driving to Italy.
Stay tuned to see what we finally choose.

Oh my, how come I missed all this excitement! Must check with Ann and see why she failed to inform me. Sounds like you have an exciting time in FL and soon in England. Do think of you often and wonder what's going on. Be sure to update when your plans are decided so I can dream of being with you on your adventure. xx
